The Cisco 2800 series is a range of modular routers that provide a range of features for small to medium-sized businesses and enterprise branch offices. It is a modular router that can be configured with a variety of different WAN and LAN interface modules to support a range of networking needs.

The Cisco 2800 series with its Advanced Security feature set provides a range of security features including firewall, intrusion prevention, IPsec VPN, SSL VPN, application inspection and control, SSH Protocol Version 2.0, and SNMPv3. These features can be used to secure a network and protect against various types of cyber threats, including malware, viruses, and unauthorized access.

The router supports the optional integrated call processing and voice mail support, high- density interfaces for the systems that require a wide range of connectivity requirements and adequate performance and slot density for further network expansion.

The Cisco IOS Software that powers the Cisco 2821 ISR includes support for a wide range of transport protocols, including Frame Relay, ATM, PPP, HDLC, and Ethernet. It also includes support for Quality-of-Service (QoS) tools such as IP Precedence and Differentiated Services to help ensure that mission-critical traffic is given priority over less important traffic.
